Love You to Death is a spine-tingling, romantic thriller that will creep-you-out and scare you half to death!”

Book Description – From
“Delicate, expressive hands…long, graceful legs…One man is looking for his perfect woman–and he’ll stop at nothing until he finds her.
It’s been days since reporter Elise McBride has heard from her sister, Ashley. She’s convinced Ashley has met with some kind of foul play, especially when she learns that bodies of other missing women have surfaced in and around Chicago–all victims of a brutal serial killer. Convinced her sister is still alive, Elise vows to risk everything to save her…
The last thing ex-cop Trent Brady needs is more blood on his hands. Yet when he catches Elise breaking into her sister’s house, full of reckless determination and fear, he knows she needs his help. But just as desire ignites between them, a twisted madman sets his sights on Elise. Hell-bent on possessing her for himself, this psychopath won’t rest until he has his perfect woman.”

Love You to Death is a really great book! One of the best parts about this suspenseful, romantic thriller is the progression of the drama…the story keeps getting better and better! The serial killer character is so fascinating and horrifying at the same time…what amazing writing! Shannon’s portrayal of the serial killer is so lifelike and believable that I would LOVE to read non-romantic thrillers written by her…hint, hint. The romantic elements between Elise McBride and Trent Brady are sweet, but I found that the cold-blooded gruesomeness actually overshadowed the romance…and I’m so glad that it did! I think that Shannon Butcher has missed her true calling as a Thriller writer; I would have enjoyed seeing more of the killer’s character developed and explored. The story has very good flow, momentum and it keeps the reader’s attention riveted as tensions are heightened and the killer gets desperate.
I highly recommend this book to all suspense and thriller fans…if you don’t mind a little romance, you’ll really enjoy the rest of the story!!

Seeing Red is a fast-paced, fiery and extremely entertaining, romantic suspense novel; you don’t want to miss it!”

Product Description – From
“Ellis Greene remembers very little about the night of her cousin Laura’s murder, but she does recall the face of the murderer. Ellis was the key witness to the crime, and her testimony helped put Hollis Alexander in jail for a long time. With Hollis behind bars, Ellis should feel safe, but the memory of that awful night still haunts her. Determined to free herself from the fear of being attacked like her cousin, Ellis has become an expert in self defense. However, when Ellis hears that Hollis has been paroled, she feels like a helpless teenager again–and she isn’t the only one who notices that he’s free.
Laura’s boyfriend Nate was one of the prime suspects for her murder. After the court case, many still believed that Nate was guilty and he left town to reinvent himself. Now, fifteen years later, he has returned to protect Ellis from suffering the same fate as her cousin. As soon as Ellis and Nate see one another, sparks fly. But Ellis hasn’t let herself fall for a man in a long time, and she isn’t sure whether she can trust Nate. As Laura’s murderer zeroes in on Ellis as his next target, she must fight to stay alive while she finally discovers her true feelings about Nate.”

Seeing Red grabbed my attention right away and held it to the very last page! This story is unique and has a wonderful flow and momentum that kept me riveted; I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. The plot twists were creative and suspenseful. The relationship between Ellis and Nate escalates quickly and the sparks fly between them as they try to find her cousin’s twisted and depraved rapist and keep Ellis safe from the ever increasing danger to herself. The characters are all very well written, each with a unique personality that makes them believable and all the more entertaining to read about. The Author has a fantastic ability to weave tales and I hope to read many more of her books, very soon!
I very highly recommend this book!

Book Review – Too Far Gone

Too Far Gone,too-far-gone
Written By: Marliss Melton
Published By: Forever, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing (Hachette Book Group) USA, Inc., New York, 2008, First Edition, 364 pages, paperback, ISBN 978-0-446-50926-8

Too Far Gone is a sexy, emotionally-charged and downright enjoyable, suspenseful romance!”

Is it too much to ask for a little bit of peace and quiet? For Ellie Stuart who is a single mom, finding the time and energy to keep up with her busy life and still tend to her three young and energetic boys, the answer is a definite yes! Goodness knows her life is complicated enough without having a man in her life. When Navy Seal and landlord Sean Harlan stops by to do repairs on his rental property and Ellie’s home, she can’t help but notice how darn sexy he is. Not that she’d ever let herself get mixed up with him. But Sean’s easy manner with the boys and the extra little things he does to make her rented house more of a home for them, can’t help but warm her carefully guarded heart. Though Sean is off-limits, neither of them can fully ignore the sexual tension that flairs between them. One night, as Ellie is driving down a dark back-road, she is viciously attacked by two burly strangers who are intent upon taking her boys. When the kidnappers forcefully remove Ellie from her car, they speed off into the night with her terrified little children still inside. Scared, confused and fearful for her three defenceless little boys, Ellie goes right to the police. Worried and distraught, Ellie is nearly driven over the edge by the time that Sean arrives. What Ellie wouldn’t do to have her boisterous little boys back and wrapped in her loving arms. With friends, Navy and FBI contacts on-board, can Sean and Ellie expose the powerful underground society and find the boys before its too late?

Too Far Gone is a fantastic book that was quick and easy to read.
The plot and storyline is somewhat unique, fascinating, fast-paced and grabs your attention. The characters are realistic and well detailed. I found that Sean had a believable ‘Seal’ mentality. The sex scenes are sensual, erotic and very luscious! I found it only mildly suspenseful but that doesn’t really matter to me because it is such a wonderful book!
I highly recommend it!
