Breakfast in Bed will charm, delight and satisfy; yet another stunning release from Robin Kaye.”

Book Description – From Amazon.com
“Rich, the epitome of “anti-domestic,” can’t cook to save his life, and his idea of cleaning his apartment is to invite his mother over. But he’s ready to settle down, and he can’t stop thinking about the ex-girlfriend who got away. When he notices that his soon-to-be-married friends cooked and cleaned their way into their women’s hearts, he asks his friend Becca to help transform him into a nurturing man to win back his ex. Rich is the only guy who’s taken the time to know Becca for herself. She decides she’ll give him the makeover he’s asking for, though she’ll be damned if she’s going to turn him into a domestic god for another woman. She wants Rich for herself, but how can she convince him that her kitchen and her bedroom are the only domestic locales he desires?”

What can I say? Robin Kaye’s stories keep getting better and better! As usual, the male characters are deliciously yummy domestic gods…or in Rich’s case…a domestic god in training. With well-developed characters who are unique and all too human, Breakfast in Bed will seduce you with its sincerity. As with the first two books in this mouth-watering series, Rich is an alpha male to the core, though he can still get in touch with his feminine side if he has too. Tall, dark and sex pretty-much sums him up! He’s also loveable, a little too self-absorbed and a disaster in the kitchen. Rich seems like an arrogant womanizer at first, but he grows on you really quickly because he’s so darn cute. Rebecca Larson is unlike any woman he has ever met. Becca is strong, independent, standoffish, petite and blond; the exact opposite of the women that Rich normally dates. When Rich and Becca butt heads over who is the rightful tenant of their new apartment and Becca gets sucked into teaching Rich the “domestic” basics, things really start to heat up. I love the way that the story flows and how it includes the main characters from the first two books; Robin Kaye keeps the story fresh by injecting humor and real, honest-to-goodness humanity into her characters. My DH is a domestic god (in training) who reminds me of Rich at the beginning of this story; eager to please but all thumbs at times!
If you enjoy reading contemporary romance, do yourself a huge favor and pick-up this 3-book series for yourself or a friend; you’ll have hours of reading enjoyment ahead of you. These stories will make you laugh, smile, blush and feel good about the possibilities of finding Mr. Right.
I very highly recommend this book!!

Talk of the Town is sassy and sizzling; a decidedly entertaining romp inside the world of News Media.”

Product Description – From Amazon.com
“GOSSIP QUEEN DETHRONED!
Darlings, what a to-do at the Daily Mail today! After fifteen years as Chicago’s gossip guru, Rebecca Covington has been demoted from divulger of secrets for the city’s elite to headlining recipes in the Home and Food section. Apparently, a touchy senator is threatening legal action for Rebecca’s latest extramarital scoop. But Windy City rumor has it that new CEO and dreamy Pierce Brosnan look-alike David Sumner downgraded Rebecca in favor of fresher, younger blood on the social beat.
Industry insiders expect Rebecca to fight her denouement, and inquiring minds have already seen the feisty maven trading quips and searing glances wtih her arresting new boss. Rebecca swears she’ll reclaim her shining star status, but can the dishy diva even cook? And how can she ignore David’s arousing effect on her sensibilities?
Don’t miss a trick, darlings. Sparks are going to fly.”

Talk of the Town is a delightful story about a middle-aged gossip columnist who gets replaced by a  much younger woman. As Rebecca fights back and tries to reclaim her “throne” sparks fly between her and the new sinfully-handsome boss. New CEO, David and Rebecca are oh-so-good together as romance sizzles in and out of the bedroom. The smoothly-flowing story is enchanting, tender and fast-paced! The sexual content is very hot without explicit detail. They fight for love while Rebecca fights for her professional reputation and her career. I love the ending; I can’t share it with you or I’d ruin it.
I very highly recommend this book!

Too Hot To Handle is simply magnificent; contemporary romance at its best!”

 Product Description – From Amazon.com
“He sure would love to have someone to take care of…  Dr. Mike Flynn’s single mom taught him early how to cook and clean, and there’s nothing like vacuuming or doing dishes to help a guy relax. Annabelle Ronaldi is an artist without a domestic bone in her body. Since her fiance’s death, she can’t paint, and life looks hopeless.
Until the day after her sister’s wedding, when she wakes up with Mike next to her in bed, and then she’s really beside herself – because the handsome stranger is a dead ringer for her dead fiance.
After their mind-blowing one night stand, Mike is sure this is the woman he wants to take care of forever, but she acts like she’s seen a ghost. While Mike sets to work wooing Annabelle, she sets to work sniffing out the truth of the convoluted family secret that turns everybody’s lives upside down.”

Too Hot To Handle is the second book in this series; Romeo, Romeo being the first and I reviewed it here. I enjoyed Too Hot To Handle even more then Romeo, Romeo but I highly recommend that you read them in the proper order. This love story flows smoothly with creative twists and turns that are captivating. Mike and Annabelle are a match made in heaven but they don’t know it yet. I literally fell in love with this story and I was amazed at how quickly I became engrossed in their lives. I was so moved by their struggles, both in love and life, that I was brought to tears several times by the exquisite agony of their heartbreak and the poignant sadness that flowed off the page, right into my heart. Robin Kaye has an impressive talent for writing vivid love stories that feel very real to her readers; its as though I was inside the book, living their lives and going through their experiences with them. I hate to say it, but I am really envious of Robin’s writing abilities; she has captured the very essence of each character and squeezed every last drop of humanity out of them onto the page; she has bared her character’s heart and soul to her readers. I can’t even find the words to tell you how much I love this book! The sex/love scenes are written with tenderness and a beautiful, flowing sensuality that sizzles with heat; the sex scenes are remarkably realistic and they are some of THE most titillating that I have ever had the pleasure to read in the romance genre. There is some swearing in the story but it is used to express heightened emotion and it increases the story’s momentum.
I very, very highly recommend this book to all contemporary romance readers and anyone who wants to fall into a beautiful, sensual love story.

Book Review – SEALed with a Promise (ARC)

SEALed with a Promise begins well but fizzles-out about half way through the book.”

Product Description – From Amazon.com
“Can the strength of her love temper his need for revenge?
Navy SEAL Caleb Delaude had a less-than-ideal childhood. His biological father abandoned his family at Caleb’s birth and left them to a life of poverty, refusing to help even as his mother lay dying. So when he is assigned to protect the powerful senator who he suspects is his father, his vicious grudge turns into a strong urge for revenge.
But then he meets biology professor Emmie Caddington, a close friend of the senator’s daughter. He thinks he’ll use her to spring the secret of his illegitimate birth on the senator’s unsuspecting family, but his interest in Emmie begins to get complicated.
He’s a SEAL 24/7, and that doesn’t leave much time for women or love. Her fascination with him finally makes him feel good about himself, but when the truth finally comes out, will their budding relationship be nothing more than a means to revenge… or is she the key to his salvation?”

SEALed with a Promise is fast-paced and the first half of the book is really good; I liked the realistic characterizations of the Navy Seals and I enjoyed the sexual tension between Caleb and Emmie. The plot is unique and the story really captured my attention, at the beginning. Unfortunately, about halfway through the story everything seemed to go downhill. It started getting bogged down with boring, repetitive family functions and some inane dialog. These story elements should have been moving the plot forward, but somehow accomplished quite the opposite. This book is marketed as a contemporary romance so I do not understand why the reader is expected to believe in Caleb’s ‘foretelling’ mental abilities; it just seems a bit far fetched. The love scenes are choppy and did not have any of the flowing elegance that I am used to reading in nearly all genres of romance (including contemporary); the demanding tone, Caleb’s brisk manner and the awkwardness of the love scenes really disrupted the story’s flow and momentum.
I was more then a little disappointed by the second half of this book.

Book Review – Romeo, Romeo

Published By: Sourcebooks Casablanca, an imprint of Sourcebooks Inc., 2008, First Edition, 384 pages, paperback

Romeo, Romeo is witty and fun; a sizzling Contemporary Romance that will leave you with a smile on your face!”

Product Description – From Amazon.com
“Rosalie Ronaldi doesn’t have a domestic bone in her body …
All she cares about is her career, so she survives on take-out and dirty martinis, keeps her shoes under the dining room table, her bras on the shower curtain rod, and her clothes on the couch …
Nick Romeo is every woman’s fantasy – tall, dark, handsome, rich, really good in bed, AND he loves to cook and clean …
He says he wants an independent woman, but when he meets Rosalie, all he wants to do is take care of her. Before too long, he’s cleaned up her apartment, stocked her refrigerator, and adopted her dog …
So what’s the problem? Just a little matter of mistaken identity, corporate theft, a hidden past in juvenile detention and one big nosy Italian family too close for comfort…”

Romeo, Romeo is a fantastic book that I really enjoyed reading! This novel has an entertaining storyline that has a smooth momentum and a few, fun plot twists; the conclusion of the story has a neat little twist that surprised me in a good way. Nick’s wealth didn’t evoke the usual resentment or dislike and independent Rosalie has a quick wit and a sharp tongue that’s just a part of her charm. The chemistry between Nick and Rosalie is flaming-hot and virtually sizzles off the page! The sex scenes are frequent but not overwhelming and they are written with lovely intimacy. I know that the “rich guy” character can sometimes be overworked, but the Author has written skillfully and given Nick Romeo a great depth of character that makes you fall in love. This wonderful novel left me with a smile on my face and a peaceful feeling of satisfaction.
I very highly recommend this book!

Book Review – For the Love of Pete (ARC)

For the Love of Petefor-the-love-of-pete1
Written By: Julia Harper
Published By: Forever, an imprint of Grand Central Publishing, 2009, First Edition, 400 pages, paperback
ISBN 978-0446619189

For the Love of Pete is a witty, fast-paced novel about one woman’s dangerous mission to rescue her niece and an FBI Special Agent who needs to protect them all.”

Product Description – From Amazon.com
“Dante Torelli is an undercover FBI agent assigned to protect a mob informant and his family. But when the informant’s hiding place is blown, a baby girl is snatched by a ruthless hitman. Now, Dante must save the toddler, uncover the traitor in his department, evade various bad guys, and deal with the toddler’s sexy aunt, all before the biggest mob trial in Chicago history, set to begin in just three days.
When Zoe Adler’s stepsister went into the witness protection program because of her sleazeball boyfriend, she wasn’t supposed to tell anyone. Except the two sisters have always been close, and Zoe has been babysitting her niece, Pete, since her birth. What harm could it be to secretly get Zoe an apartment in the same building where the FBI is keeping the family under protection? So when someone inside the FBI turns and a hitman snatches Pete, Zoe is right there. During the shootout, she jumps into a sexy, uptight FBI agent’s car and hangs on as he pursues the hitman. No matter what it takes, Zoe is going to bring her niece back.”

For the Love of Pete grabbed my attention on the first page of chapter 1 and held it! You’ve got to love it when an Author has the ability to hook you in that quickly. As Zoe and Dante try to rescue Zoe’s niece Pete, they become involved in shootouts, car chases and other tension-filled situations. The main characters are very like-able and sexy; with just the right amount of humanity to make them realistic. I have to admit that I fell for Dante with his masculine charm and incredibly strong, protective instinct. Zoe’s colourful, free-spirited ways and her cheeky mouth are a wonderful counterpoint to Dante’s controlled stoicism. The sexual tension is lovely and palpable throughout most of the book. The other characters are just as fascinating and make you wish for a longer story that delves deeper into the lives of many of the supporting characters.
This book reads much like a movie with great pacing, flow and plot twists that kept the story fresh and exciting.
I highly recommend this book!

Only if she can learn an important truth: that happiness begins with SIMPLE WISHES.”

Simple Wishes was a really delightful surprise. This book has restored my faith in contemporary romance novels! The author is clearly a very gifted storyteller. The characters are well written and very down-to-earth. This is a fantastic story that left me with a warm feeling of contentment.
It has a very thought-provoking story, written very ingeniously to keep the reader entertained and yet it doesn’t give away too many details too soon. I was really pleased with the plot twist and it caught me completely unawares; what a pleasant surprise that was!
I highly recommend this book!
